EXHIBITION
13.04.01 – 19.05.01
When I was invited to do a project in the exhibition space, I decided to breakdown a building into its construction materials and to put the same quantity of material inside the building. I managed to get each of the companies to lend me their products and to come and deposit them where the building structure would best support them. Nordic brought the five tons of wood, Beamix brought the ton of plaster, Desimpel the eleven tons of bricks, CRB the 13 tons of cement and gravel, and so on. The most serious problem was a technical one: how much weight could the building hold without falling? It was obvious that if the building had to hold the weight of all its construction materials, the exhibition room would cave in. (L.A.)
